An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our PBS team at Freeways to support a young woman in her first own home in Abbots Leigh. K has a learning disability and autism and at times can communicate through her behaviour.
K has her own mobility car and enjoys going out and taking part in lots of varied activities. She also likes swimming, dancing, trampolining, cooking and beauty care. She loves going for long walks, kicking a football around and visiting the local shops.
You will apply the principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to enable K to flourish in her own home, develop her independence, learn new skills, live a good quality of life and have fun! PBS involves changing situations and events that people experience to increase their quality of life, and in doing so, decrease the likelihood that challenging behaviours will occur.
